Last night we had a post-recording birthday celebration for one Will Boyd, guitarist/vocalist/everythingist extraordinaire. It involved beers, of course, but it also involved a sweet game of Golden Tee, in which Collins knocked out a hole-in-one.Sweet, right? But sweeter still is the fact that Golden Tee posted this athletic wizardry on YouTube. Who knew that video games could do that?? Do you guys remember when 8 bit graphics was as good as it got? Now, apparently, a machine will automatically post your 3 AM video golfing triumph online for you.So, to borrow from Jon Stewart, here it is: your moment of zen...

NYC Residency Coming to an End Tonight

Tonight will be our final show in NYC. Hopefully it won't be too long until we're back, but we have to head down south for a bit to play what will be some epic shows (Riverfest, '90s night, and Bonnaroo).
If you're in the New York area come down to Pianos in the Lower East Side this evening for your last chance to see American Princes for a while. We're headlining, so we get to hang out for a bit after the show. Join us.
After tonight we'll be spending the next few days finishing up the five new tracks we've been recording. Then, it's back to Little Rock to be reunited with our dearly missed bassist Luke. Here he is, in all his moustached glory: (foto que se puede ver en la página)
American Princes to Play Free* Boston Show May 6

The Boston Phoenix along with Jim Beam is presenting a free* show with American Princes and New Orleans' Galactic on next Wednesday, May 6th at Paradise Rock Club in Boston. This is pretty exciting for us as we love both newspapers and bourbon (we used to love tea parties as well, but someone had to go and ruin that for a while). And it should excite you, too, because if you drink too much and pass out on the way home you can just use those promotional copies of the Phoenix for some pretty comfy street bedding.
* The Catch: you have to sign up here to RSVP. Unlike other RSVP events, however, we think this isn't just a first-come-first-serve kind of event. Our understanding is that tickets will be distributed by a sort of lottery. The order in which you sign up may have some kind of influence on the result. Honestly, we aren't a hundred percent sure what the details are with the ticket giveaway procedure. But we do know that Galactic brings out the throngs. So if you want to catch American Princes for free in a whiskey-soaked environment then your only chance is to sign up for tickets asap. Doors are at 7. We will play at 8. Bring it.
